Ebay stores.....good idea?

I know a number of you guys have Ebay stores. What level do you have? I am thinking of starting one this summer because I have loads of free time on my hands. What sells best? Do you pay listing fees AND the monthly cost? I know this has been discussed before but would like to hear your experiences.

Thanks!

I have had a store for quite sometime. I think the monthly charge is 14.99, up from $9.99. Most of what I list costs 6 cents; 5 cents for insertion fee and .01 for gallery.

The listing is then good for 30 days and at the end of 30 days if an item has not sold it will automaticaly relist for another 30 days.

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

I have a basic store and that serves me just great.
with the store you get selling manager for $15/mo. listing fees are .05-.10 per item and gallery cost .01.
I use it as a place to keep my inventory that I want to sell. Whenever I need cash I send a bunch of items to auction and find the overall process quite handy.
If you have enough stuff, I would get one.

Stores - in some cases multiple stores - are the key to
    making money on EBAY.

Under the current - and likely future - search scheme,
store owners MUST run CORE listings (BIN/Auction) in
order to bring traffic into the store.

It is critical to maintain critical-mass in the number of
listings in each store. CM varies by category. As a general
rule - across categories - bewteen 100 and 500 active
    store listings is adequate.

ALL stores should have RSS enabled and should list a
few items each day in order to keep RSS actively reporting.

Use of an off-EBAY portal(s) is essential to cut FVFs. Discounts
on FVFs of 75% are granted when customers enter the store
    from such portals.

All things considered, EBAY stores offer a swell value to sellers.
