I must check for the Paypal logo... I must check for the Paypal logo...

For some reason yesterday I decided I wanted to put together the 1972 NFLPA Vinyl Sticker set, they are just so cheesy (like bobblehead dolls in paper form sans the bobble) and so quintessentially 70s that I cannot help but to dig them. So I head over to eBay stores and was actually amazed that all of the singles were available from various sellers with the exception of one, Bob Hayes. Drats!

So I review all of the items available and do some math taking into account asking price, shipping, and combined shipping discounts... penny saved, penny earned and all that stuff. I figure it all out and start hitting the Buy It Now button. Over to My eBay winnings and start to pay the sellers.... only THEN did I notice one seller does not take Paypal.

This is the second time in the past month or so that I have done this. With Paypal being so pervasive and almost a necessity, I just assume EVERYONE takes it and do not always check to confirm. I know I usually will not bid on items where the seller does not take Paypal unless it is a rarely listed item or a major bargain, and I know I am not alone on this. It's nice to have the protection of Paypal (I keep my Paypal balance at zero and always use my credit card), but moreso Paypal's convenience.

Anyhow, it kind of amused me how much cutting a check and getting it mailed out annoys me these days where I used to do that at least a dozen times a week before I switched to Paypal. Surely I am not alone in this, right?

Thought I might post a picture of one of these 1972 NFLPA Vinyl Stickers for those who may not be familiar with these goofy things.

  • I love those! Never heard of them before as I've only collected baseball cards and such, but I think those are too cool. Reminds of the 1963 (?) Dodgers Pin Ups.

keeping my ears open for oddball cards of Rose from the 60's and 70's.
