Should I Crossover a 2001-D NGC MS-67 New York State Quarter

Would I be more successful in crossing over or simply breaking the quarter out of it's holder and submitting it to PCGS for grading that way? Would I have a higher chance if it is in the NGC holder, or does it make a difference?

Sincerely,
Chris

  • Chris, a serious thread. How refreshing. I'd keep the coin in its NGC holder and sell it if need be. I'd then purchase one in a PCGS slab if that is your intent. By the time you spend the money in an attempt to cross it over- and it's likely not too- you could have just as well done what I suggested.

Better yet, wait another couple of months and you'll be able to afford one in PCGS MS68.

If you crack it it could come back 66.
If you cross it will probably come back 66
I would save myself some headache and expense and just go buy a ms67 and be done with it.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
  • Dog, It makes so much more sense when you write it (?).
  • Does anyone know where I can purchase the 2001-D PCGS MS-67 New York state quarter?
