First off. The 1962 YA Tittle looks like a 9 and is. I pulled it out of a pack and I had every card from the pack graded. They 1 straight 9 and 3 PSA 9 OC. The YA was graded with them and graded a PSA 8 the first time. I cracked it out and they say its trimmed. Put some more time into this guys!! Know what you are doing. And as for the other cards they said were trimmed, They are not. I pulled every single one of these cards out of wax packs. If anything they were miscut. NOT TRIMMED> Poor job..

Man this is the worst I have done. I paid the 13.00 5 day service. So it cost me about 330.00 to have them graded with SH. And now I have about 380.00 worth of cards. If I had sold them raw they would have sold for around 240.00.
    I messed up bad.
BUT THEY WERE NOT TRIMMED! I would have been fine if they refunded my money for miscuts but man I took a beating on these.

This is the thing that bothers me the most. Where is the consistency in the service they are offering?? Too be honest this does not instill a lot of confidence in those who get cards graded.

Its been very bad lately. I also just bought a PSA 8 1961 Mathews. Looked like a 9. Just got it back. Evidence of restoring.

Having legit cards not grading does suck....I also had a recent sub that popped the other night that had 2 cards (that I just cracked from a PSA holder) that came back evidence of trimming.

I have very low confidence in the graders. I'm seeing similar problems where cards cracked and resubmitted are now showing as EVID TRIM. Advice for the graders - just because a card isn't perfectly sized/cut doesn't automatically mean its trimmed. I have some high end 8s that I considered resubmitting but I'm concerned they too will get rejected due to "trimming". So they will stay in their current holders.

I think its becoming way to common for this to keep happening. I have had to do this with several cards. One of the other cards that came out of my 1962 Topps Football pack, Which came from BBCECHANGE a while ago. GAI graded. It had a Lenny Moore. The best looking 1962 card I have ever seen in my life!! GEM. 1st time graded. Ev trim. WTF are you just scared that one cant look this nice. 2nd time PSA 9. How it should be if not a 10. The % is going up and i dont like it. Its costing me way too much money.

I think that timmed cards shoudl be slabbed as well with the correct designation, trimmed, recolored, restored, etc. or there shoudl be some kind of refund offered. Doesn't seem legal that they can just send you your cards back, not holdered, after you paid for them to be holdered. I know, I know, they are paid to be examined, so what is the .00005 cents of plastic cost??? SOOO Pretty please with sugar on top SLAB ALTERED CARDS image

Off topic of what I was discussing. I was mad that they mis graded these cards. I know for a fact 100% that they were not trimmed and they said they were. They even once said at one time that the 1962 was gradable and gave it an 8. But this time they said it was trimmed. Which is it and what am I paying for???? A guess?

    resubmit my man.

otherwise enjoy the card in its raw form. are you grading for selling purposes, if not, who cares what grade psa designates for anything you already know is nice?

I just think if I pay 13.00 for a service. I should get that service. And not have to pay 2x the price. Bc they just didnt do there job.

Maybe the first grader was wrong and the 2nd one got it right.

Apparently this hobby would be much better if we just all assigned our own grades.

With regard to the YA card, this experience exposes the pitfalls of grading.

It does show the effort. And I dont see how these graders are the "experts of grading"

To be honest, I found it a little disconcerting when PSA said in the Q&A that most of the time they do not use magnification when grading cards, either. Why wouldn't the graders avail themselves to all possible tools in order to assign a correct and consistent grade. After all, most of us, scrutinize our cards before submitting, so why shouldn't the graders do the same?
