There are so many humorous things about this listing, but my single question is, how much are the listing fees for something like that?
  • frankhardyfrankhardy Posts: 8,143 ✭✭✭✭✭
I am going to offer $50,000 (5%) and see if he bites.

Anything over $500 is a flat $4.80 insertion fee.

I had that bad boy too. That and a 33 Lajoie, and T206 Cobb.

Here was my question for the seller.

"I had that same reprint when I was a kid. I threw it away though. Do you think I made a mistake?"

Priceless use of the English language in that listing.

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

Too bad we can't read the writing on the back of the card. If I remember right, it talks about how the original was printed in 1910 and how in the 1980s it is the most famous card in the world. What foresight they had in 1910 to predict the card's value 70 years later!! And to think, the one that sold for $2.35 million only said some dumb thing like "Piedmont" on the back!

I saw the movie "Twins" staring Danny Devito and Arnold Schwarzenegger and I realize that I may know something here. This butt-whole may actully be related to "The Governer of Elmwood Park ", who regularly pushes rediculas auctions on ebay , as some here may remember. He had the auction for the 1985 Mark McGwire Topps # 401 Graded by SGC(8.4) mint for only $1,500, which included possible future value.

That was one of the best threads on this forum I and others have ever seen, although only the after auction thread still remains. May this dude even top that great event.

Here is what I wrote to him! hehe

I am really interested in this card. Could you tell me more about how you came to own it? Also, how much is listing fees for a sweet card like that? I couldn't imagine that! Good luck selling the card, and I hope to hear back from you as I am very interested in your card.image

I think theses a Dimaggio card like that that was only avail thru mail in as they forgot to include it in the set. It has the red on top back too if I remember right.

I asked this guy the same question I asked the McGwire guy: "Hi, I have a question. You're an idiot."

    I really hope he responds.

Well, for once the nimrod didn't use the poor dead grandfather who originally gave it to him as a selling point.
  • I normally dont even like tot alk to losers like this but this one was to good to pass up. Here is what I wrote him.

I would like to offer half a shiney penny from my pocket. I cant part with the whole penny at this time as I am hoping to pick up another fake reprint of an old card down the road on ebay. Oh and I would require you to ship to me before I send the half a penny, cant be to careful when it comes to trusting people on ebay. Its a canadian penny as well hope thats ok.

How can it possibly have a bid on it?

Of course eBay lets this auction continue, but stopped my Hank Aaron rookie 3 times because of copyright crap (said it needed to be graded). Amazing.
  • TNTonPMSTNTonPMS Posts: 2,279 ✭✭
    I dunno man .
    I can't believe it .
    Someone actually bid .
I'm just pullin up a big fluffy bean bag chair and my popcorn and watchin this , right now it's the most interesting thing on image
  • Im guessing it has to be his other new ebay id. After all why get one when two is better. Wait till he gets his ebay bill for the bid. Now that will be funny.

I was thinking about bidding on this and then retracting my bid with like 13 hrs to go
heh heh let's drive this card to 5 million or
This clown probally has 3 to 6 ebay ID's and is just bidding on his own card hoping someone else bids and he can end the auction early and take the money and run.

Just think this is like playing the Lotto (only takes 1 person with more money than they know what to do with) and this guy runs away happy .
Some people have to much money (wish they would give me some).

The chance of those bids of $2.4 million+ being legit are about the same as Blutarsky's grade point average - 0.0.
  • Oh poo, it got yanked.
