1938 Goudey Dimaggio - ? authenticity

I recently received some very disappointing news on a 1938 Heads Up Dimaggio. I submitted the card with the hopes that it would grade a PSA 2 or possibly even a 3. It came back ungraded because of questionable authenticity. I have only had a few other 38's and the card appeared to legit. Anyways, would anyone list it on Ebay very clearly stating what PSA determined as well as showing the holder it came back in? Or just write off the $475 cost.

That really sucks, I would try to talk to the seller you got it from, unless it was 4 or so years ago. I had one seller tell me if I had a card graded it it came back altered, he would reimburse my grading fees and a full refund of the card. Tough to find honest people likt that thou

why would you not go after the seller? they sold you a fake card (assuming PSA is correct and the seller represented the card as authentic), although it isn't clear from your post where and when you purchased the card. Obviously I would question any raw Dimaggio, particularly from this set, since even PSA 1s are selling for $500+ routinely. Most HOFers from this set are through the roof. It took me months just to get a Gehringer at almost 2X SMR and 1.25X VCP.

If you don't have any luck with the seller, sometimes people have resubmitted a card with ? authenticity and gotten it graded the 2nd time. Do you have any good scans so the people here who know the most can help?

I hope it's not one of the many artificially aged reprint cards ebay seems to have lately

I just bought a high end PSA 3 with no creases and Ex-Mt corners, only thing is it has a small sratch about 3mm long. Got it cheep for only 1000.00
Not bad I thought.
