Seems like there has been a lot of these this year
My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

<< <i>I was thinking that too. I saw a game recently and one of the broadcasters commented on what he thought was an increase in broken bats too and they said they thought it could be because a lot of batters have switched to different kinds of wood for their bats . . . like maple instead of ash. >>
Two things were named as probable culprits, first the change in the wood used, which you noted and the increased shaving of the handles has reduced the amount of stress a bat can handle.
