Can you guys tell me what are all the baseball card books that have been released (NOT counting pric

Here's a couple I remember from my middle school library; one was called "Sports Cards" and was made in 1979 (as it pictures mostly 1978 cards) and another more "formally written" book from 1976 that had a long title but had "Baseball Cards" in the title (and it pictures mostly 1975 Topps cards and even interviews a few of the adult collector "pioneers" so to speak. Then I remember a third one (a paperback) which apparently was a "best of" of all the readers' letters to the editor and was written in the late 1980s.

If anyone has any more info on these or other baseball card books (that are NOT primarly price guides) or even have some looking for a good home, please let me know. image

This one is a reference/price guide. Pricing is not specific to certain cards, it usually just gives a paragraph about the cards and the ranges of cards/prices (i.e., Cards 1-226 are .15/ea, cards 226-445 are .20/ea and 446-660 are .25/ea). This one was published in 1975 and is in great shape. I bought this as a kid and put it on a shelf. If interested, feel free to make me an offer...

Topps put out a book that has a picture of the front of every topps card through 1985.

I remember having a small pocket type of price guide that had pictures of every year or most years before the prices of that year.
Seems like it had a lot of vintage cards pictured on the front and back in some type of collage that covered the front and back of the book.

In 1973, "The Great American Baseball Card Flipping, Trading and Bubble Gum Book" by Brendan C. Boyd and Fred C. Harris was published by Little, Brown and Company, in association with Sports Illustrated Magazine.

Sorry Czar...I didn't notice your post aboveimage

Also, there's a large "coffee table" sized book titled "Classic Baseball Cards, the Golden Years 1886 - 1956, by Frank Slocum, published in 1987. It pictures nearly all non-Topps bb cards up to 1956.

Another book I remember (again from my middle school library of all places) was this HEAVY, GIGANTIC book that shows pictures of all the fronts of EVERY Topps set from 1951-1990. That too would be quite interesting (especially if it does indeed have that two page description for each set if my memory again serves me correctly) but I'm sure a book like that does not come cheap. image

Boy, can you imagine if they made that book again for 2001, Topps 50th b-day? For a book like that you'd probably have to take 'roids just to lift it. image
