Did you know that I have been secretly collecting Ike Dollars? I have the following to date:
All are PCGS MS65 IKES!
1972-D
1974-D
1976-D TY-2
1977
1977-D
1978
1978-D
I would love to collect the whole set in MS65. This was started after I asked on this forum to give some advice to me about starting a new NON-DIME set for me to get my mind on something else.
Guess what........it hasn't worked!
Anyone else?
Later, Paul.

I have a collection of 1988-1998 Mint sets to distract me.
I didnt realize that collecting DIMES would be so interesting in colors and tones.
My Wife works at the Credit Union, I ask her everyday to check the dimes or order
me new ones.
It is a sickness, thats for sure

The more qualities observed in a coin, the more desirable that coin becomes!
My Jefferson Nickel Collection
now I collect war nickels - only 11 for the set - very beautiful colors as well with the silver/copper/manganese
I also dabble in IKES
I have found 2 1972 type 2's to date, after I figured out how to tell difference
I don't think I've spend more then $35-$40 for any of them.

<< <i>Yes it is a challange in MS65 but who cares. I just happen to like IKES and have for years. I collect for fun and if it doesn't happen in 65 then 64, 63 or whatever. They are big and way kewl coins!

I think that is the best way to collect them. Just try to get the ncest you can
without busting the bank. You can find a really nice coin or two raw and look
for others underpriced or undergraded and put together a great set with a lot
of challenge for little cost.
