1902 and 1911 Coronation medal boxes

Okay Coronation medal experts... I have a question.

Were the official Royal Mint Medals for 1902 and 1911 separated by boxes to the extent that there were being delivered in Commonwealth Countries? In other words, would the coronation box itself for a Coronation medal delivered and sold in Canada or Australia be any different than one sold in England by the Royal Mint?

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance...

changed spelling of Where to Were

The medals were on sale to the general public on a personal application only basis at the Head Office of the Bank of England and it's London branches. In Scotland and Ireland the medal were obtainable at the Bank of Scotland and the Bank of Ireland,,BHM. To the best of my knowledge the example you used does not exist, as none were made to export.image

I asked because I saw a listing on the bay of E for a 1911 SILVER coronation medal (the large one 55mm I think) that seemed to make reference to a rare Canadian box that it was issued in. The box was there... couldn't see the exterior of the box to see a difference. I thought it was interesting a worthy of a question here... the starting bid was 150 and I do not know if it sold. Thanks for the replyimage

It may have been a Blue after market box, as I believe the originals were red.image

You are right...The original box is red. The after market box is likely what this was... right again.image

    Thanks
