Life support group needed.

Since this forum is sooo dead lately I am making some proposal's for life support.
1. Every member list at least one of his/hers under coins for sale each week. Some body out there might possibly need it.
2. Make a post of what coins you need. I know I have a couple of fun sets that need a coin or two, and I don't just mean top pop coins.
3. If members don't like your post them they can ignore it, they should be off of page one in a day or so.
My reasons:.
1. I for one have sold some of my under Kennedy’s to other collectors over the years. Those coins now have homes in three other registry sets. Many of the members here search and submit a group of coins to get that one date and grade needed for there sets. Selling of there under grades will help continue the search.
2. As mentioned in another thread on here searching through the BST and Ebay gives you everything under the sun when all you wanted was PCGS.
3. As per the rules For Sale posts are not to be BUMPED so if we have more they will go on down sooner. When was the last time you even had too go to page two around here lately?
Just some thought’s about how it used to be.

No kidding, you have a good idea here, just wish Russ would part with some of his "Birthmarked" 1967s, the miser.
<< <i>I'm still looking for a 1971 Kennedy in PCGS MS67 if you have one to spare. Willing to pay good price for it. >>
POP 6 coin and only two in the top ten sets. Wonder where those other four are.
You want one. I want one. And I bet a few of the others would be interested.
<< <i>PCGS 1984-D MS63RD Lincoln Cent for sale. PM with offers so I can pluck the pocket of the least informed as to it's value. >>
1984-D RD 2 4 6 8 15 30 80 1500 - -
And if you do not know what it is you should not play the game.
And the answer is six and that would be on the high side.
MS67RD so you know I know what they are worth.

IMO, turning this into another BST board was the nail in the coffin....

IMO, if someone doesn't like the idea of PCGS slabs being for sale, then they don't have to post to the tread. LindeDad just made a suggustion to help keep the forum alive. It is my understanding that any topic related to the Registry is fair game to have a thread posted here, so if someone doesn't want to list a PCGS graded coin for sale or wanted, then talk about the pro's or con's of the Registry and how it might be improved
Now what are the odds of actually getting a set registry related thread in edgewise amongst all the dealer spam?

I promise to give that idea all of the consideration that it merits.

All that dealer spam going on..... In the last three days, the most recent posted to twenty threads, there is only one dealer offering one coin. Way to much dealer spam for anyone that wants to start a thread related to the Registry.
I miss Laura, at least she made some sense.

..Unless the matter is disposed of quickly and secretly. Then the post-er is booted from the forum or suspended awhile.
But I will note that when I got home from work today and turned on this computer I went in to check for any emails. There I found one from my son, one from my sister, and one from ebay. There were also four spam’s wanting to sell me some pills and other stuff to include coins. In this day and this media you are going to have some spam. I treat it a lot like I did the kids music when they where still at home. First ignore and if it becomes too loud ask them to turn it down.
Spam is a fact of live, commercials on TV, Victoria Secrets adds on my ISP home page on the way here, and yes dealers selling coins on the message boards.
But I will say this in my mind it is all just part of the collecting game in this day and age.
OH and BTW this tread was my way of deflecting the troll, but I really would like to see the forum be more active in all ways.
And why were there four different Half Dollars in 1839?
TDN - You seem to have a problem with everyone and everything. I see no problem with selling PCGS coins here at all and everyone else seems to agree but you! It's like sence you have the best Seated and Trade Dollars known everything else is not worthy of being posted. I love your coins, but can do without you and your bad attitude towards people who are trying to get something going on this forum.
Again, WAY TO GO Lindedad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Call it SPAM if you like but it IS within the rules to post PCGS Registry coins for sale here and to show pix of them as well.
If Lindedad is TRYING to breathe some Life into this Forum then I say "More Power to him!"
I believe that Carol should amend the rules here to encourage all to post their PCGS wares for B/S/T BUT ONLY IF ACCOMPANIED BY A FULL TWO PARAGRAPHS OF DISCUSSION OF THE HISTORY OF THE COIN, THE PCGS POP REPORTS ON THE COIN, PRICE HISTORY, with awards to be given out at the end of each quarter by PCGS for the most interesting and thorough DISCUSSION of the coin(s) in question.
Of course, pictures are always nice!
This would then make this forum a must see forum since EVERY thread, even B/S/T ones would be informative!
How about if we all petition PCGS for this rule change?
It would not be so bad to impose this rule for the B/S/T forum as well excepting that one paragraph about the item should suffice.
But I do like the idea of a discussion of the coin, may have edit my listing later. Still on my first cup.
My listing has been edited and I think it fits oreville's contest rules.
Amazing what two cups of java can do.
If I had it my way, stupidity would be painful!
<< <i>Dead is right! Even the Roosie guys aren't posting here anymoe - and they were seemingly the last bastion of group support! >>
Later, Paul.
Later, Paul.
<< <i>Ahhhh, I have a point of view that tweaks Carol's rule.

Better yet, let's petition a random top 5 registry set (excluding bullion, of course) to be photographed and highlighted here (for all to see) and make it the discussion of the month! We could all pitch in to fly one of our best forum photographers to that collector and wait here for the results. How exciting could that be?

I'm one who has found a home for 4 of Lindedad's Kennedy Halves. This forum needs a boast. I have not listed anything here but after reading the rules I may toss a few out there once in awhile.
I also would like to thank those who replyed to my poll that I posted yesterday, looks like it's going to be a set of Franklin Halves in MS65 Just need to do some research on the in's and out's of the Franklin halves.
