1901 Mexico Peso - a plethora of mint errors

This coin looks like a definite UNC to me, but this is practically a comedy of errors. Can you spot them all? You might notice the small crack under the assayer's initials on the obverse. This crack runs down into the reeding, makes a left turn, and runs down the rim another 2cm or so. I love the die cracks on the obverse, it makes it look like a spider web. The rim from the end of the crack (lamination?) to "E" in peso is almost flat, and is the same on the reverse. The denticles are nearly nonexistant. There is another die crack running through the eagle's head and a bunch in ANA of mexicana. Also, some cool small ones extending from the knobs of the cacti that I couldn't capture. The leaves on the right side of the wreath have almost no detail! If anyone has an explanation for how a coin would turn out like this, I'd love to hear it.

A filled die would be able to explain the lack of detail.

I'm not sure why die cracks are so prevalent on Mexican coins, but they are.

It's sort of like the way low grade Italian coppers from the 19th and early 20th century are usually found heavily dented after circulating. Even to the point of looking chewed on, sometimes. Can't figure that one out.

I've purchased coins sometimes just because of the comedy of errors found in the strike. Gotta love 'em!image
