Do the Newer Dansco Albums Still Promote Rim Toning...

I just bought a couple Dansco albums with the mylar covers that slide over the coins. Do these newer albums prevent the album toning that we have seen from older models?

I don't have much experience with Dansco albums as my "album of choice" as a youngster was the Whitman Folder.

From what I've heard, if you use their new anti-corrosion slipcover then they don't promote rim toning.

Unless they put something in the cardboard to neutralize whatever causes the toning, the mylar covers won't do much.

I think it is more important where you keep the album.

The newer Dansco albums do not promote rim toning. I have had mint red Lincolns in my Dansco for 15 years and they look no different than the day I put them in.

I have a complete Mercury dime set (VG-EF) in a newer Dansco. I've had it about 3-4 years. It seems the coins on the outer edge are toning up (slowly), with nice purples and oranges. A few inner coins are slooooowly toning.

Most of my coins are in Danscos with slipcovers, and none of them have toned.

I've actually noticed that the silver coiuns tone in the Danscos whereas the coppers don't so much.

I _HOPE the Danscos do promote toning image

I've collected the silver rounds (Libertads, ASE, Maple Leafs, Brittanias & Pandas) each year...

Maybe I need to put away my albums in the hot attic for a couple of years & see what happens....

image I guess since it's 15 years old, you may be right. The one I have is what I consider the "newer" album. Below is an image.
