    Mint sets have never gotten much attention except when a mint set only
    coin has been included. It wasn't even widely known until the last several
    years that these coins are in any way special.

    Now that the satin finish has been used it seems they get a lot more atten-
    tion even if it's only to complain the regular coins aren't available any longer.

  • The coins in the satin sets look like they have been through a meat grinder.

    It may be that satin-finish coins that grade 68 or 69 are rare enough to make looking for them worthwhile.

    I find the high grades much easier to obtain from the Satin sets... I think the pop reports will confirm this. Never before were MS69s so available.

  • The satin coins and business coins being different... if you find a high grade satin coin, it is not a business strike high grade.

    but, yes there are higher grades coming from the satin sets. (I haven't found a single coin worth grading in 10 sets.)
