Pocket change.

Hey Modern folks!

While I enjoy looking in my change for the latest State quarters, I know squat about potentially valuable coins that one has a REASONABLE chance of finding in their pocket change. What are some date/mintmarks/conditions from the last say 25 years that us coin junkies should be looking for? Thank you!

You can find valuable cents back to 1959, nickels to about 1939, and the
other coins to 1965. Older coins have all been picked through AND removed
from circulation. Any you find are ones that were inadvertantly spent or re-
    circulated by a collector.

There are too many to list so you really need the books. CherryPickers Guide
is a good place to start but hardly lists everything important. You need to buy
    the books.

There have been a few pretty good threads here you can search and for cents
CopperCoins site is superb. Coneca has a site that lists the DDO's and DDR's
    and rotated dies are here.

The best way to discover the condition rarities and many of the varieties
is to simply start a collection. A folder costs only a couple dollars and by
the time you get it filled you'll know an awful lot about what you can find
    and what you can't.

Good luck on finding a 1969 Philly dime. I still haven't found one in pocket change.image
