Not the sort of message a seller loves to get after his listing ends

Yes, I know that bad news can come plenty worse, but... aargh!

<< <i>I want you to know that I bid $1087 with approx 10 seconds left in the auction but that my bid wasn't recorded for reasons that are an absolute mystery to me until after the auction concluded, which absolutely astounded me as another bidder got it for much much less than I was willing to pay. If there is any problem with payment by the apparent winner I would like to be notified and will be more than glad to purchase it for $500. Yours truly, [signed] >>

The item sold for $250. I don't mind selling it for $250, but... aargh!

That sort of email makes me a little suspicious (unless of course, the buyer is known to you). Could be a sniper who just screwed up and honestly wants to buy the coin, or it could be someone trying some new variety of scam.

It would be remarkably coincidental if the winner has trouble paying you.

The emailer has a history of buying similar items. I think this is a legitimate case of sniper's remorse. The winning bidder has a high feedback and 100% positive so I don't expect any issues there, but if there was a second bid, I sure wouldn't have minded if it was registered on time!
