If Dr. Kagin loses the arbitration, how will that affect the ANA Governor election?

Does anyone know what will happen with the ANA governor election if Dr. Kagin loses the arbitration and is expelled from the ANA? I assume that all of the ballots have been printed and are about to be mailed out.

Will the election be postponed, or will it go on and any votes for Dr. Kagin will not be counted? Should the ANA Director disband the Board of Governors until the next election in 2009? I am not trying to be facetious. We are bordering on an ANA Constitutional crisis here, so I was wondering how the matter will be addressed if the outcome of the hearing does not go Kagin's way.

And BTW, based on the briefs, I think that Kagin will walk (easily), but I hear in the other thread that Manley's lawyers did a good job. So I guess the outcome is not as certain as I thought.

  • I would think that if Kagin is expelled, votes cast for him will not be counted. If the election is conducted and Kagin wins but is then expelled, the person with the next highest vote count would be elevated to the board. Just as Fannon was elevated to the board when Walt was booted.
