Question about a Sacagawea Dollar, 2005-P PCGS MS-67

Just wondering if you thought this coin is worth paying $105.00 for.......here's the picture even though it was graded.

You should really try to be a little more patient for an answer to your question. After all, three minutes is not a long period of time.

i think the real question is do YOU think it is worth that much?

PCGS price guide lists @ 200 so i would say 105 is reasonable... if you like sacs (and I certainly do) go for it... graded PCGS can't go wrong... but only buy if YOU really like the coin.
looks like a nice 67 from the pic.. would like to see the rev, but the obv seems a little better then a 67 from that angle... but obviously hard to tell without it in hand

    hope this helps

There are so many possibilities in getting the common Satin Finish coins into regular MintState holders I'd be hesitant in paying a premium.

Let me start by saying that NOBODY loves the Sacagawea Series more than me. I own everything and then some but the Cheerios and I'm working on that.

I started to do a registry set and I just can't do it. An MS whatever out of a roll is just as good for me as an MS67 or 68 at an inflated price. I was going to go PCGS MS68 minimum. I can't and won't do it.

If you can afford it, and it makes you happy that's as cool as life itself. I'm happy with a Dansco that I built from mint cellophane coins. Real happy.

The Satin Finish is pretty different in appearance from the MS coins... it is really common a mistake for them to get into MS holders?

  • Hi Sly, buy what you like.

Keep in mind your tastes may change.

    A story...
When I first got interested in coins I bought cool looking silver proofs from the world mints and neat bullion. Thank god silver went up. Soon I bought my first toned morgan from Heritage and had to borrow to pay the $230 win. Scary but I loved the coin. Started buying nice morgans and early commens for awhile. Found this forum and started my education. Reading numismatic books got me going.
Now my tastes are very different. Not refined at all but very differnt from when I first collected.
For what it's worth......now $230 scares me still but spread those payments out and $$$$ coins are nice once in a while.
    Good luck.

I'd rather get the same coin from my Mint set for less.
  • or simply buy a mint set....for $100 you could get several recent mint sets.

Well - the PCGS certification is worth at least $25 plus shipping...
