Is this considered a Adams dollar error???

Hello, new to collecting coins not sure even if this is an error but out of 2k these are the only two like this and are from same roll. There is something touching from the C to the rim. Here are a couple Pictures. Thanks for your help. Ron image

  • I can't really see what you're talking about with those pictures/scan.
  • I found three out of a thousand. It is a "die chip" or "die crack", and it's not "technically" worth anything over face value.... but you might get a buck or two over on eBay.

BTW - if you go back and look REAL: CLOSE at your other coins... you might find a couple with just a tiny speck of extra metal in the same place (that occurred prior to the full chip that you have found)

Looks a die chip on "C" of America. Others more familiar with errors will probably chime in, but I have a strong feeling its not a significant error.

I think the pictures are fine... Two have the same die chip or whatever above the C. One doesn't. Right?
  • Thanks all I plan on saving one and was gonna give one away .Didn't figure it was to major, But know I know . Thanks Ron
