Error or Novelty

hi all. i recently got a roll of wheats that had a silver colored 1956. it is not steel because it fails the magnet test. the ring test sounds similar to another wheat. i am wondering if this is one of those coins that was meant for a charm bracelet or is it an error of some sort. sorry about the image size.

A lot of cents were mercury plated by kids back in the '60's.

i had read that in red book and thought thats what it was. its a really well defined coin. it's a shame. still pretty. thanks for the replies.

ha. i am old but not that old. the closest thing to that i have ever done with a penny is put one on the railroad tracks.
