I just picked up this 1674 Wurttenburg coin at the Westford Regency Coin show today, tell me what you think.

    Nice looking indeed... But I don't think it is Wurrtemberg proper, rather of Wurrtemberg-Oels. I don't have any references with me, other than the Krause Catalog of German coins and it is lacking in this area. But Sylvi is referring to the Son of J. Friedrich who married into another Duchy (Silesian bloodlines if memory serves correct) and created this line. Also Wurrtemberg used coats of arms and stags almost exclusively so the eagle doesn't fit. Friedrich would still have been on the coins struck By Slyvius in WB-Oels. Nice looking coin and I would have picked it up as well. I am curious to see what the final attribution on it is. I am sure someone here has a reference to it that will tell you for sure. Mine are about 1800 miles away from me right now, Sigh...

    Almost went to that show, as I live nearby... opted for the beach instead. Seeing that coin, I'm sorry I didn't hit the Coin Show....!
