Anyone know as if there are counterfeit 1955 or 1965 Topps football cards?

I am contemplating starting on the 1955 Topps All American and/or 1965 Topps football set in raw mid-grade condition. I was just wondering as if there are any known counterfeits in either set that I should be aware of?

I saw nothing mentioned in the Beckett annual, but I seem to recall hearing about fake Namath rookies. I am not talking about reprints, legal or otherwise, but counterfeit cards not marked as reprints intended to deceive potential buyers. If they do exist, any tips on how to spot the fakes from the real things?
