Please Help SMR Needed On A Few Cards

Hello guys and gals.

I had a VERY SMALL card shop about ten years ago and recently one of my better customers tracked me down. He has gone through a rather nasty divorce and ended up losing his entire collection and would like to rebuild it this time concentrating mostly on rookie cards. He is tired of having to drive over two hours just to get to a shop and he also doesn't have a computer so I am trying to help out with finding what he is looking for and also make a little cash in the process.

So after searching various auctions now for about a week and a half I have decided that buying what he needs raw on eBay is just not the way to go. I have very few graded cards in my personal collection but showed him the ones I have as he hadn't been introduced to graded cards yet. He has no problem with lower graded cards (say in the 6 to 8 range) and I need to know the SMR on a few items so I have a general idea what things book for (He still believes in going by book price) and to make sure I don't overpay for what he is looking for.

1982 Cal Ripken Jr
1985 Roger Clemens
1983 Tony Gwynn
1986 & 87 Barry Bonds
1983 & 84 Darryl Strawberry

Thank You,
Jeff

    Jeff,

You didn't mention which company's cards you may be looking for, so I just made some images of four Topps sets. Let me know if you're looking for a specific card value. You'll have to calculate the price for grades less than not shown. Oh, and I poked around a little in SMR and couldn'f find a Strawberry rookie card value. I figured if the '84 Donruss wasn't listed, then there probably wasn't much value to worry about in the other sets...

Oh what the heck, I just went and copied the '84 Fleer Update Clemens values, too:

The 1987 Topps Bonds has been going for over $50 now, but not much...then plus shipping/ebay hassle. (I would like one for $20).

Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

    Thanks Mike.

I guess I forgot to list the companies.image

He's got me looking for Fleer, Donruss and Topps. So far I have won a Fleer Cal Ripken Jr in PSA 8 for $17.70 including the shipping.

Although he says that he likes the look of the 6's and 7's I think I will stick with trying to pick up what he wants in an 8.
