    I had to chuckle when one of the Braves announcer proclaimed that this cemented him into the Hall of Fame.

    He has had a great career that is for sure. I would never say the HOF is a lock but I think he has a decent shot at least.

    He is a hometown hero where I live and a local Applebees restaurant has one of his game shirts with his signature on the back
    framed and hanging on the wall. Kind of neat. image

    No pitcher has the mix of Wins and Saves like Smoltz. He is an unreal athlete, moved back and forth from starter and closer, will make the HOF easily. Anyone who knows baseball would recognize same.

    I don' t think he's a lock, but he's going to get in eventually.

    so... he is going to have to wait xxx number of years?

    Solid starter for the years he was in the rotations, Post Season brilliance, World Series ring, Cy Young, 3 lights years as the NL premier reliever. Wheter he gets in the first year or the following year. he is still a lock to go to the HOF.
