mark two more off of the list.......

I'm collecting the Prussian-Franco war victory thalers, and i picked this one up off of Teletrade last night. Also, the Hamburg 3 mark will be coming along with it; now i need the 5 mark Hamburg of this design to round out this 3 coin Mark set.

anyone else a fan of these cool looking 'victory' thalers?

Doug

I know quite a few collectors of these. After you get the 5 1871's, then you need to get all 5 of the Baden 1871 Victory Kreuzersimage I collect all of the German Victory coins and there are quite a few of them.3Mark

Love that first one, both the design and the lustre!

Yes, I have admired some of the victory thalers myself. That first one is a beauty. Congrats!

thanks guys! I did some past auction research and found out i could have picked these two coins up for around 60% of what i paid, IF i would have only purchased them 4 years ago! It seems the German market stuff has taken a nice increase in popularity (and prices!) somewhat recently.

3Mark: if you have pics of your Victory thalers, I would love to see them (as i'm sure the forum would too!)

    thanks for the comments everyone!

OK, that's serious YOU SUCK territory....

The Württemburgische Victory has been forever on my "someday, but not a priority" list (I used to live in Stuttgart). And that one is nice! That type is somewhat hard to find in true UNC. .... And then the 1914... another that I need for my set!

Why thank you Larry, but D at least pays to have his coins photographed:
