What the heck is this? Does PSA do this?

I am at a loss on this auction. Does PSA do some type of pre grading now?

  • something seems fishy with that one...
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12

Maybe he got it authenticated as being real but it may of been altered? Recolored so they would only authenticate it. The back has a seal on it.

  • Nothing Fishy at all, check the link below for the story. This is not a pregraded item.

Link to PSA authentication of MTG cards

This card has been authenticated as genuine by PSA and has an invisible strand of "DNA" that can only be seen via special laser light to mark it as such. PSA offers this service on MTG cards to verify they are legit and use the special hardsleeves for storage. They DO NOT take into consideration the condition of the card when doing this service, just that it is genuine.

The NM grade as listed in the auction is purely the opinion of the owner. While the card looks decent, it has obvious wear on the bottom 2 corners and along the top edge so 8 would likely be the extreme top end of the grade scale it might pull. Guessing that is why the seller did not put up a very detailed scan of the card.
