Hi guys,
I recently bought this, which I assume is a die for a Chile coin or medal?
Does anyone know what coin or medal it's for? Thanks.

Maybe a medal commemorating the bank of Chile in Pisagua? A seal of some sort?

What is the diameter of the die?...perhaps it was used on bank bag seals.

Its 41.66mm dia. 11.9mm wide and heavy (it overloads my digital scales). It has the pattern on the front and a screw hole on the centre of the reverse.

More likely using one of these: or

to squeeze an embossed impression on paper,
possibly through a metallacized colored paper seal like this:
often with a ribbon attached:

I think you won't need such a thick die for seals. This has to be for some tokens or coins. Nice die though!!!

It is quite thick and also along the (ribon below the unicorn and bird) it has "ENERO 1° DE 1884" written. I have discovered "enero" to be a month, January 1884. So its quite old.
