Declared Value on PSA Submission

I'm pretty sure this has been addressed in the past, but I'm wondering if the amount you declare a submitted card to be "worth" or its value has any impact on the grading process? Do people just value their cards at the grade they hope to get, or does it even make a difference? Will PSA disqualify a submission if a card submitted with a declared value of let's say $300 turns out to be a gem mint 10 card worth $750 and it's been submitted under the regular service level? Just wondering what others think with regard to this issue.

I believe the rule of thumb is PSA 6.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
  • I list all values at a nickel. Because that's usually the resale value of the cards I sell.
