I read that article earlier. I remember being infactuated with treasure hunting after seeing the movie The Deep back in the '70's as a kid.

Historians believe the 157-foot warship was carrying nine tons of gold coins to buy the loyalty of the Duke of Savoy, a potential ally in southeastern France. Odyssey believes those coins could also fetch more than $500 million.

Those holding certain coins in the belief that they are very valuable may change their minds as more similar coins surface, making their coins less valuable.

There's a show on one of the extended networks about treasure hunters, and near the end of the show they're sitting around with a few of the shareholders divying out some of the loot that was acquired. My wife probably thought I was watching the Food Channel because I was drooling.
