Some 2001 Topps Heritage Questions

I finally got my hands on a 2001 Heritage set, and I have some questions.
Let me know if I'm correct in what I'm saying here...
Are all of the base cards red backs? I went through the set last night and it appears most of the cards from #81 to #407 are red backs. Some of the cards between 81 and 407 are black backs, and I'm assuming those are the SPs?
I know cards #1-80 have both a black and red variation. Anyone know which one is rarer? Or were they equal pulls?
My set has a mix of black and red variations between 1 and 80. However, since the fronts of the cards are identical for both variations, I'm keeping the set as is and not going to try to pick up the missing cards.
My philosophy has differed over the years on variations. I feel like a variation on the back of the card is not as important as a variation on the front of a card. I'm happy I finally received this set to fill in a gap, so I'm not going kill myself trying to get the variations.
