Help on chinese gold coin

Does anyone have info on this empire gold coin? How can you tell if it's a fake? What's the weight of it?

The tael was a unit of weight, which varied according to geographic region, time period and what was being weighed, but I believe a "tael" of gold (also known as a liang) should weigh a bit over an ounce.

If I read the Krause correctly, a pattern "Peking Tael" 1 liang coin, in gold, dated 1907, is listed (KM Pn302) with a CV of $24,750.

Do you have an image of the coin? It would be a privilege to see it should it turn out to be real.

If you could provide an image we could give you considerably more help, especially if you are wondering if it is real.
