Should PSA Expand Grading Into Sports / Non-Sports Collectible Postcards?

I would like to see PSA make a big push into grading
collectible postcards.

MANY cards are very rare. All are condition sensitive
when considered for pricing. The PSA holders are
already in use for the Perez-Steele/Goal Line style
cards. (No new investment for PSA).

I suspect that the value-added by the PSA slab
would be a MAJOR boost to profitable sales for
sellers of PCs.

PSA would need to keep the price VERY reasonable
at the start, in order to maximize the number of cards
that would be holdered in the first-phase. PSA prices
could then rise as time passes.

No new grading standards are needed. All PSA needs
to do is advertise the service and run some specials.

Am I the only person who likes the idea?

Thanks.

I think so. There are many cool postcards of old stadiums etc. from the "postcard era" of 1907-1915
  • PSA should ace the tickets and all of these other little gimmicks and focus on topps baseball, football and hockey cards from 1952-1989, in my humble opinion.

I don't think the postcard collecting market is ripe for PSA. I don't think straight postcard collectors are as interested in grade. Many postcards were mailed, and many more out there had the price written on the back in pencil as was common in the hobby.

Furthermore, unless PSA developed a holder specifically for postcards, I don't want my cards in mylar.

SGC does a great job with postcard grading. I think they will grade a wider variety of cards. Here is an example from my collection that I don't think PSA would handle:
