What's up with this polo shirt? Did the guy just show up at the photo shoot in his street clothes?

    I think it might be a warm up type jacket, if you look at a lot of early 70s cards, you will see cards with the player wearing his jersey over a jacket, especially pitchers.

    Since Champion had played for the Phils, I would bet that its another of Topps airbrushing jobs...

    Kinda looks like he's got a collared shirt under his jersey .

    Warm up jackets (windbreaker type) back in the 1970s had collars like that. Some players wore those under their unis just like the picture.
