PSA 9 '77 Sutter Rookie...$424?!@?!@?

What in the heck is up with this?

Madness

PSA 9 Sutter rookies go in the $125 range all day long, and there are currently 3 in eBay stores, all $175 or less. You see this type of thing from time to time, and I just do not get it. image
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Very odd - especially since I just sold a beautiful PSA 9 for $125 earlier this month. Of course, with the new eBay system in place, they have made it harder to identify bidding activity that is not legit.

Looks like two guys dropped "nuclear" bids. I'm sure the guy who won probably got that chilling, dry in the mouth feeling when he saw what he just did.

Maybe Bruce Sutter will come out of retirement, pitch a perfect season (33 games, 33 perfect games) and get 27 k's in each game (one of those games being a 15 inning game where he collects 45 k's to make an untouchable record). Then, that guy might make some of his money back.

Buyer must think that the grading scale is from 1-9, with 9 meaning mint, they thought that must be the highest grade??

    Yep. Bad day for roxygirl.

Must be the +++ after the PSA 9 in the item description. I guess each "+" is worth $100!

If it were me selling the Sutter, the winning bid would have been $125.

  • How about this one and it was a BIN so no snipe nightmare! Can't you pick this set up in NM for under $200? Described as mint, but look at the Tarkenton and others. They are NOT mint!
