What's your favorite international modern silver series?

After my post on kookaburras, I began wondering what other modern 1-oz (or so) silver series people like to collect and why? A series that has some real keys/low mintages sounds especially interesting. Thanks!

Well I like Aussie Chinese Lunar Proofs.
    Prost!

Why step over the dollar to get to the cent? Because it's a 55DDO.

I love the Lunar series too.

  • I have collected all the Pandas and Kookaburras. Both are in BU, not proof - but I know the pandas are very popular.

Agree about the Libertads, I have a full set of those too. Again, not proof though.

New Zealand had Kiwis for about three years but I believe those have ended.

The UK Silver Britannia is beautiful but the design changes are every so odd years with the original standing Britannia as the anchor design in between changes. Also, Philip Nathan who designed the first 5 Britannia designs was not tapped for the 6th design so you notice a difference in the series design appearance.

If I were to choose a silver series, it would be the same one that I keep up to date in gold: The China Panda

Kooks would be it, followed by Britannias and Libertads, neck-n'-neck.

I'd go the other way around to Lord M, Britannias and Libertads tied and Kooks after that.

Royal Australian Mint fine silver proof set. Since 2003, they have done each year's circulating coinage in fine silver proof. Each set is encased in an actual wooden holder with hinges. The type of wood varies for each year, but is a type of wood native to Australia. The make only 6500 sets each year. 2003 is the key set. I have 2 of them.image

Zoins mentioned the Egypt antiquities series and I have to agree with him here. Some remarkable art and history!
