If Ya Buy a Topps Signed Contract for 362 bucks - Shouldn't Pensmanship Count?

Sorry for the large scan - but it's hard for me to get excited about paying almost 400 bucks for that scribble!

How do we know that his 4 yr old daughter didn't sign this for him? image

Well, that's my take and I'm sticking with it!

    Sadly, that's fairly normal for a Maddux signature. It's like a Rorschach test.

    IMO he has the worst signature ever. I wouldn't pay even the smallest sum of money for one.

    Didn't Nolan Ryan get $75k a year? I guess when you are a rookie, you will take anything. Plus having your mug on a card is neat early on in your career.

    I also like the part where the $75 was applied toward a gift from the Topps catalog.

    I wouldn't care , If the guy's got a cruddy signature , there's nothing much you can do about it , it's still a nice piece to have .

    Not too many can say they have the same and that is what makes it cool. I-M-O

    The real money goes to the Players Assoc. They inturn give each player 100k.

    The 'contract' is a mere formality.
