  • Man, that is truly the most insane thing I've ever seen! I did some quick & dirty calculations, and this guy has forked out ~$125,000... over the LAST 4 DAYS!!!

There are 3 possibilities the way I see it:

1 - The guy is a millionaire and just doesn't have anything better to do with his money
2 - The guy emptied out his retirement account and is betting it all on Barry Bonds and unopened vintage (for the most part)
3 - The guy has hacked into somebody's huge PayPal account and is going wild with it before he gets caught

what ever the real story is, it's interesting to see someone spend that kind of dinero on cardsimage

I'm suspicious. All of the feedbacks are for inexpensive auctions (sub $100) except for the last one ($600). I'll be interested to see if he gets feedback for the other $99,000 in merchandise.

Bob , I thought the same thing , he has had time to pay for some of the items and there hasn't been any feedback. time will tell

Well- I thought something was up with this guy...I listed some Bonds stuff with crazy BIN's and this guy buys them all and pays immediately. I then offered him several other Bonds items I have at pretty high prices and he takes all of them. He paid thru paypal with a verified address etc...all looked pretty good. After looking at his buying history, I knew something just wasn't quite right...although all of his email responses were quick and polite and his payments looked good. Now he's NARU'd and his paypal payments have been held in my account pending further review...Sure glad I didn't send him anything yet!!!! Was planning to ship tomorrow. I bet alot of the others won't be so fortunate...Looks like it could be one major $$$ scam with what he's purchased so far...

I got a "Feature Unavailable" when I went to look at it.

    Sounds like quite the scam.

Wow, that sucks. Maybe Storm can chime in here as to what happens next with Paypal, since you shipped to a confirmed address with sig. confirmation.

I think you should be protected...I had planned to ship with Sig. Confirmation also...Since he had a verified account and was listed as eligible for seller protection, I think you should be covered- but it'll probably take some time and be a hassle. I wonder about all the other folks who might not have had Sig. Confirmation or even DC...He bought a ton of stuff over the last couple weeks...alot of it very high end. I myself had deals for about $1900 worth of stuff, but hadn't shipped thankfully.

He bought 3 packs from me and paid via echeck on Monday, and cancelled the payment today.

IF you shipped b4 PP said "DO NOT SHIP," and...

IF the SigCon is signed at the confirmed addy...

the Seller Protection Plan will save you.

It appears there is a 5K annual limit on the SPP,
so it is best to ALWAYS be cautious.

I am speculating, but I doubt it is a kid.

There is one more innocent and REMOTE possibility...
the buyer hit some "unusual activity" sirens at his
CC companies, and they are trying to protect him.

Sounds like a hijacker, but I have not studied the
    account.

although I think something is wrong here , because paypal canceled the payments , it does not necessarily mean that this is bad. iwould contact him by email and ask him what is up and see if he responds.

I bought a 4k box of cards and paid the guy through paypal and paypal gave me my money back without me requesting it even though the guy already shipped it to me as they froze his account because he had to much activity out of no where from selling high end items. He had to fax them business licenses , bank statements , etc to get it cleared before they would open it.

I believe frank bakka had the same issue on ebay where they Naru's him for suspicious activity because he sold his 72 set over a few weeks.

good luck and hope no one did get burned

when he cancelled his paypal to me he wrote a note saying thanks anyway and have a good afternoon. I wrote him back directly and asked if there was a problem and would he be sending a check, and I still haven't gotten a reply. I doubt I ever will.
this isn't paypal shutting him down like they did with FB, but him cancelling everything.

and that is why if I do sell on eBay, I will not acccept paypal. Got burned for a $400 item last time I listed--so it is check or money order, or do not bid

I've exchanged emails with the buyer regarding the purchases he made from me...some were echecks and some were not. The echecks were all cancelled by him, but he states that he has more than enough money in his account to cover the other purchases and that Paypal will be releasing the money soon. If they do release it, I'll probably go ahead and ship the stuff with signature confirmation (it's over $250) and I think I'll be ok. I guess I want to believe him at this point, but still glad Paypal got involved and shut him down before I shipped- especially if the deal does end up going (further) South. If Paypal checks it all out and releases the funds to me, I figure all should be good. Hopefully the others who received echecks had not shipped yet before he cancelled those...

They agreed with a buyer of mine that bought cards on Thursday (Buy it Now), Received them on Monday but on that Sunday had already filed a claim and had the money reversed because he was going to a card show on that Saturday to flip the cards but my slow shipping ruined his deal. When I negged him on Ebay he even tried to get me to mutually withdraw it but I declined. I felt 3 days shipping even on a Buy it Now was fast enough. If they use a credit card pay pal basically goes with anything the buyer says because they are too afraid the credit card companies will side with the buyer. Pay Pal informed me that a credit card buyer has 6 months to file a claim on a purchase even if you follow their shipping guidelines you most likely will lose and have to pay it back.
