Record Price for 1960s Non-Sport?

I don't know if this is a record for 1960s non-sport but my $260 bid for 1962 Civil War News #7--Death At Sea--PSA 9--was not competitive.

This pop 1 went for a staggering $2,755.00. Shows that non-sport collectors can get excited by pop 1 PSA9s.

I imagine Carl Reiger was one of the bidders--perhaps Frank Evanov knows.

This may be the most popular non-sports set of the 1960s.

Dav ... a bid at that level will not be "competitive" on several NS issues of that era

    Halos Fan,

In what other sets do PSA 9s go for over $2,700--Mars Attacks? Others?

Dav ... that Mars set is definitely extremely popular and competitive .. I was just mentioning that a bid of 260 for a PSA 9 is not always a competitive bid on certain sets from that era.

Yeah, I didn't expect to win with that bid but I didn't expect to be $2500 low.

try buying a "9" in the HORRORS OF WAR set see how that will rip the bank account apart!
