Last weekend was awful. I did pull an 1891 IHC but there was nothing else.
This weekend's been good so far. I decided to hit a spot where I had been
digging a couple of times in the past along the perimeter of the lot away
from traffic and watchful eyes from people in the neighborhood. This time
I moved further in. Man, the dogs were loud.
Anyways....
I first got a quarter register at about maybe 7-8 inches down, which is silver
territory and yes silver it was. A 1944 Washington quarter popped out. I gridded
the same area and got a similar tone but different numerical register. I pulled
out another white metal piece I thought could this be another silver quarter?
Nope. It's a Cracker Jack Mystery Club coin with Pres. Washington on it.
I've never seen such a thing before in my life. After that, nothing esle were found
for at least 45 min to an hour. I walked across the lot to the other side and
this time got another solid quarter hit. Yessir, as soon as I saw the piece laying
flat I knew it. A SLQ. First thing first, date. Yep. It's still there. 1926! My second
SLQ found.
Anyhoo..Here is the picture.

There might be more here yet but having the dogs barking few feet
away from ya it ain't easy.
I will come back there for sure.
And here are the finds from Sunday trip that include 1917-S Merc (highlight),
1917-D and 1941 Wheaties, a Chicago and Northwestern RR button, and
a Britains Co. lead toy plate.

The 1917-S Merc
Thanks for viewing.
was very pleased to see the date. it was iffy at best but I decided to dig anyway. That
is my oldest with an S-mint mark. Being in this part of the country, we usually find coins
from Philly mint mostly.
Thanks everyone for your responses.
<< <i>..having the dogs barking .. >>
I keep dog treats in my van. It usually keeps them quiet for a while.
I like the Cracker Jack club token the best!
G.
That a great SLQ and Merc you've got there!
Barking dogs & detecting... ugghhh.... I've never experienced that combination myself, but can imagine the situation...
<< <i>I like the Cracker Jack club token the best! >>
Me too. These are prolly harder to find than coins.
<< <i>I see you're going to be a tough silver contender this month too... >>
Maybe not....
That is prolly my silver count for the month, which is 3.
I did find though, a Jewelry piece that can be a real competitor to your
find this month. It's date stamped and it's old.
Thanks, guys, for the comments.
