The link above is the best history of the Darkside available. Future historians will despair because the forums we use now were only put in place on 23 February 2001. There were PCGS forums prior to that, and there was a darkside in that primordial swamp, but alas it is forever lost to the digital oblivion...

First time I read/heard the darkside term (outside of Star Wars) was in 2001 on GlockTalk referring to switching over to GLOCKs from the more traditional non-polymer pistols.
