1981 OPC baseball rip....

I just got in two boxes of 1981 OPC at $100 each, which seems a lot for a 1981 box, but this is one of the toughest OPC sets in terms of scarcity. There are only 4 total PSA tens in the set, and a PSA 8 Nolan Ryan just sold for $26. Here were the gradeable cards from the box I opened:

The Schmidt is a tough card, so if I could get a 9 on at least one of them I'd be very happy (I know mikeschmidt guy, I'll let you know when they are graded). I also got about half the set, including a Raines RC with a wax stain. Overall not too bad, especially considering a complete set just sold for over $80- I had my snipe set at $55 and I thought I was overpaying!! OPC stuff overall has been very strong across the board- I just sold a ton of unopened stuff from the late 80s-early 90s, and a few PSA 10s for more than I thought they were worth ($70 for a 1992 Manny RC, $45 for a 1994 Bonds). I think the registry guys are getting tired of the same old Topps/Fleer/Donruss and are starting to branch out.
Not sure what I'm going to do with the other box, but I think I'll keep it shut for the time being.

Edit: Plus, I forgot to mention that these are the greyback variation. At the end of the print run in 1981, OPC ran out of their white stock, so they used a grey stock similar to Topps'. Supposedly only 10% of all 81 OPC cards are greyback, but I have yet to confirm this as fact. ANybody have any other info on the greybacks?

Id have a tough time not opening that second box !
In case you were selling, Id be interested in the Nettles, as well as any other Yankees you pulled.

did anyone else think from that Frank LaCorte card that it was a picture of Ron Guidry in an Astros uniform?
