i kinda like how those SP cards look.. the 2 on the bottom right though look like they might have some chips at the top, if so that would knock it down a couple grades..
The two SP's that you are talking about on the bottom, I took them out and looked at them for the "chips" at the top. It must have been the plastic, because the cards are flawless. The cards are completely mint outside of the plastic.
I started collecting just John Elway, exclusively . I just loved watching him play, when he left the game I was very sad to see him go ,but it was nice to see him finally get what he deserved after working so hard for it , I just wish that Marino could have also got his as well .
Lmmfao Elsnorto . . . somehow , someway , I knew that was comming . Too funny man . The only thing those two have in commin is they are the best in their business .

You have to love seeing a legend of the game going out on top. Sadly, the Elways, Paytons, and Jimmy Browns are the exception to the rule, with most legends trying to hang on longer than they should have in hindsight.
Unitas as a Charger? Namath as a Ram? Campbell as a Saint? Dorsett as a Bronco? Franco as a Seahawk? The list goes on and on.
Few get to go out on top and on their own terms like Elway... a classy move by a classy player and it adds to his legend to boot.
Damn, is that what I'm doing wrong ? Hadn't noticed the problem until I tried scanning a white border card . I must have scanned that card 5 times until I found out what was happening and even that was by accident .
Sittin there starring at the scanner scratchin my head and the cover was open and noticed the bottom was white .
AlanAllen's advice works very well, but if the card has a natural curve to it, leaving the scanner lid open wont flatten the curve during scanning, and that curve makes the card scan very oddly. Since most cards to be scanned are white border cards, I just took a piece of black construction paper and taped over the scanner's inside white background, and now I can close the lid and always have a black background. I just remove that construction paper for the few times I need to scan a 1971 black bordered card (and even a 1975 multi-color bordered card).

FRanco as a Seahwak was a tough one for even me to stomach. Montana as a Cheif, for that matter Allen as a cheif, Rice as a Seahwak (wearing Largents number also )
Also, love Rush in concert. so much damn music from 3 guys. Amazing.
Absolutley Joe, I can't believe the sound of that band and just 3 guys .
But those 3 guys are masters at their instruments .
Montana as a Cheif? That I would have never thought , I always thought he would have just left after San Fran , But I guess he felt he was still strong enough and able enough to play and make a difference .
It was always great anticipation waiting for those games . I miss them .

The only 3 players I dont recognize are Joe Montana, Steve Young and George Blanda. All the others I would have graded asap.
My reasoning would be , you should wait to see how those 3 players career's turn out before spending the funds on grading them.

If not why ?
If so , what may I expect ?
BTW, Those are some nice cards !
When scanning , I had to use something of color under the card because the borders couldn't be seen .
