Which set do you like better?

Im trying to decide what I want to collect, in addition to my everlasting search for every Steve Young card ever made....but....im wondering which of these do you prefer?

-1986 topps baseball
-1984 topps baseball
-1975 topps football

thanks

  • I like 75' football. Plus since the highest priced card would be the Lynn Swann RC the set would be doable.
  • How much does the Swann go for in a nine?
    150ish?

$225-$250. A psa 10 (1/3) just went on ebay a month or so ago for over 3K

    Oh ya, 75 FB

The only negative on the '75 Football set is Topps airbrushing all the helmets. Great rookies and ton of stars. Not much not to like about that year. The airbrushing of the logo's really helped ruin a lot of otherwise fine card designs for the decade.

When you see mint and sharply focused 1984 Topps Baseball cards, they really are a great looking set of cards too.
  • My vote goes to 1984 Topps

If you are talking about a graded set, then I would go for the '75 football, if your talking raw then why not get all three? You can get a very nice '84 and '86 Topps set's for reasonable $$ and they would look great in binders.

    I agree with you.

I think if you are going for graded that the 75 would probably be the easiest, unless you are planning on submitting most of the cards yourself. Both the 84 and 86 sets have multiple cards that have zero graded.

I just started doing the 84 topps baseball set. I know most of these guys say to just buy sets but I don't see any fun in that. A guy on here with the name Lojack?? told me that he has a few raw sets for sale. Good luck and have fun!
  • well I just sent in the first football card I ever had, a Ken Mendenhall card, which is from the 75 set, and I sent in my first baseball card, an '84 Henderson(came back an 8....not bad for a card ive had since I thought street sharks were cool)
Anyway, I think the 75 football set is beautiful, especially the backs.
I think everyone just has that one set they love.

Anyway, yeah ill probably go raw for now, and maybe get the Falcons players in PSA(since im doing an all time falcons topps set anyway)

75 football. I love the Topps sets (most of them anyway) from the 70's.
