A CHALLENGE - Want To Find PSA 1 Thru PSA 10 - Same Card - Any Suggestions?

I had an idea of trying to collect a PSA 1 thru PSA 10 of the SAME CARD and not spend an arm and a leg...anyone have any ideas as to a card this might be accomplished without spending a lot on the PSA 9 & 10? Can be any sport.

  • Yeah, if you are having a hard time finding the One or Two, buy a couple of threes and give it a little paper loss on the back image

Take a look at the POP report for a few you like.

To get into the cheaper 10s, you may have to
    make your own 1, 2, 3, 4.

I think the 1989 Fleer Ken Griffey RC might be a good canidate to try. You can usually find this card in 4-5 grades at any moment on eBay. Anything under a 9 pretty much goes for nothing, and the card itself is kinda cool.

Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

You can do it on any modern card, if you're willing to spend the money on submitting yourself and ruining a few cards.

That said -- you aren't going to find almost any other example, without spending hundreds or thousands, unless you create the card yourself. Think about it this way: If a PSA 10 of a card is only worth $50 - $100, no one is going to send in a PSA 1, 2, 3 or 4, but for an occassional mistake submission. If a PSA 10 is worth $1,000 -- you will likely see PSA 1-4 available, occassionally. But unless you submit yourself, this will be a Herculean task.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
  • 1990 Proset Hockey might be an option. The flimsy stock makes them easy to chip.
Maybe like Gretzky from that year.

I have a collection of Steve Largent rookies from psa 1, all the way to psa 9. Working on the 10 right now, getting ready to crack and resub a bunch of psa 9's.

The PSA 1 is very funny, it was a childhood card of mine, took it to school, kept it in my lunch box, etc.
