Finally finished a set!

Good morning Everyone,

Finished my first PSA registry set yesterday and it feels pretty good. It is only the 1981-82 Topps Basketball set though. I do not know why I like this set so much because I never collected it as a kid. I think I just like the design and this was the time that the NBA was heading into it's golden years. For me it is pretty much unwatchable now. Is anyone else out there nearly finished with a set and maybe needs the last one or two elusive cards?

Mark

My 1981-82 Topps Basketball Set

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

Congrats on the completion of the set!

I'm not sure why most people say this, especially based on the playoffs the last two years. The Western conference playoffs the last two years remind me of the 'glory years'...

I was always a big fan of that set. Good action shots, plus the starburst with the name and team are visually appealing. I think what hurts it is the lack of big RCs (McHale is the only HOFer), but it's the last year of Topps' run until 1992, and the first set to have full cards of Bird and Magic. Plus, it's very condition sensitive with ultra-thin borders and typical early 80s Topps card stock. Not to mention the difficulty of finding all three regional sets. Great accomplishment.
