An eBay rant

ajaanajaan Posts: 17,455 ✭✭✭✭✭
Why can't certain eBayers read? I include this statement in my auction listings:

<< <i> Non-US Registered Insured shipping is $9.95. If the item or combination of items to the same buyer, sells for $30 or more, Registered shipping is required to a non-US address if paying by PayPal. >>

When I send the invoice I put the $9.95 shipping figure to winners from non-US addresses and in my notes tell them shipping is for PayPal, if you want to pay by other means, then shipping is $2.50.

In the past few weeks I have had four people from Canada and the UK pay by PayPal and subtract $7.45 from my shipping on my invoice for items which closed for over $30. Can't these people read?

End of rant. No replies necessary.

In fact, if your problem is confirmed addresses, you can make an exception for the UK, Canada and part of Japan. They too have confirmed paypal addresses now.

  • In some states it is illegal to charge a different amount based on method of payment. I believe it is also against Ebay policy. Just thought I would let you know.

OT rant -- Whoever wrote the text to go with the sign up process and help files at Half.com is illiterate. I just signed up as a seller and came across so many typos and poor wording that I had to double-check the URL. Almost thought I was on a Nigerian scam site!
