I wonder how a card can be in two places at once?

While I wouldn't touch this with a ten foot pole....

It's not all too uncommon for people to "lift" a picture of a similar item so they don't have to scan the actual item they are selling. It could be legit.

  • I think I would take the time to scan/pic the card if I wanted that price and the card was serial #d as these 2 are.

Have to say it's easier to get the ebay logo onto a stolen scan than it is to get it off of a pic from ebay. The ebay card IMHO is the fraud. Imagine that, a fraud on ebay?

    Good catch!

While I agree 200%, I've found a few sellers on ebay that only use "pirated" scans. I would think that taking the time to find and copy someone else's scans would more trouble than hitting the scan button....but thats just me. There's prob some poor starving kid in the Philippines relying on my bid and immediate MO payment so he can feed his family until Sally Struthers visits next week.

It would be fun to email them both under different cover and see if they would send a more detailed scan...see if they both come back numbered the same. Be fun just to see who doesn't have the actual card. You should be able to make a good guess if the pic resolution is better on one pic than the other as the lesser res pic should be the "copy."

    Jim,

Doesn't that lower right on the yahoo auction look photoshopped? It does to me which is why I wondered about pic res.

The eBay pic is 1/3 lower resolution so that's my bet on the "pirated" picture but it wouldn't surprise me to find out both auctions have this card although numbered diff, of course.

  • Seller of the Ebay one has a negative stating bait and switch pictures. My guess is he's the scan swiper
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12

Looking for Al Hrabosky and any OPC Dave Campbells (the ESPN guy)
  • I bid on the one at Yahoo and then I sent him a question about how it could be on eBay at the same time? He sent this email back (copied and pasted exactly as written)...

    "HI
HEY NOT SURE WHAT YOU GOING AT..BUT IF YOU THINKS IIM A LIAR AND
CHEATER..YOU DONT KNOW ME..THE WAY YOU TALK I DONT WONT YOUR BUSINESS..GO
BID OWN SOMEONE ELSE ITEMS NOT MINE.. "

    Then canceled my bid image

I encountered the same type of situation, same card in different auctions at the same time.

I bid on both and recieved them, and of course one card had a different # from one of the sellers.

I was happy but the card was only worth 12 bucks, so not much risk.
