I like that a lot better than a lot of the cuts that UD puts out in Legendary Cuts. Only thing that would make that cut nicer is if the auto was more to the top and the catcher and batter were more visible at the bottom. I've certainly seen a lot worse cards.
Topps has been cutting up PS postcards and the yellow HOF postcards for a couple years now. I dont know which is worse, this or the Payton and Unitas cards that were made by cutting up other autographed cards to be placed in the UD Legendary Cuts series...
I can't wait until some company decides to cut up the UD or Topps corporation and insert it in high priced packs. I'll chase after the nameplate card of the Marketing Director who came up with the idea of destroying rare historical artifacts. It's one of the many reasons I don't spend a cent on modern cards.
Topps was starting to make a bit of a comeback but now falling again...reason I say this is because of autographed cards. Most of Topps products for a while had autos ON the card and not on those damn stickers while UD was using the stickers for nearly EVERYTHING including their high end products (and still do). Now that Topps is leaning towards the stickers, its starting to suck once again.
Give your sticker autos a few years...I hope you dont hold on to them because they are going to end up peeling off the cards when the glue is dried out. I hope this isnt the case but I just have a bad feeling......
The idea of cutting up a PS card or a photo or whatever to make a card is just as ridiculous as them cutting up equipment to make game used cards. Why destroy a beautiful item?
I agree about destroying "obvious" memorabilia. Totally agree!!!
The "memorabilia" destroyed such as vintage bats and uniforms for those game used cards? Are they F*ing kidding? - I'd say the odds of those bats and uniforms being what they are claimed to be is extremely close to zero if not zero. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if they did some sort of dating technique on a Mantle game used bat card and the bat turned out to be wood from the 1990's - LOL. Even if it was wood from the 50's or 60's, I still wouldn't believe it was likely from a bat Mantle used during a game.
There is so much fraud in memorabilia sales it's not even funny.
who are these companies hiring to design these gu and memo -ish anyway? my 9 year old daughter could use kid pix to create a more asthetically pleasing card than some of these cards that sell for thousands of dollars.
don't support topps, spread the word about how lame & apathetic to the collectors they are, how bad their product has become and that is all we can do as individuals.

You mean destroying the photograph/print?
I think it’s a nice looking cut from a Negro League HOFer ~ who just didnt know how to write his name very well (that D sure looks like a W).
The cut looks perfect though, they placed it so the little action painting could be seen... I like it a lot!
Where does the “new low” come from?
Currently searching for 05 Upper Deck Origins & Old Judge Autos #/5 (Feller, Hafner, V.Martinez & Rosen)

BigCrumbs! I made over $250 last year!
<< <i>Perhaps a stupid question here. Why can't Topps just include a redemption card for the whole PS postcard? >>
Because they need to make a "rare" chase card.
But when it comes to autos, I like cards and little else.
It's been said many times before but...
They could use lessons from Knuckles.

Buying Vintage, all sports.
Buying Woody Hayes, Les Horvath, Vic Janowicz, and Jesse Owens autographed items
what a joke. Destroying a great collectible to make a cheezy one.

The only thing somewhat redeeming is the Heritage issues which even on those cards, they're relying on copies of vintage issues.

i have never dealt w/ game used dick, but i could see this being a really gray area for shrewd people to exploit.
very sad commentary however.
