So someone buys a game used bat from me on Feebay and I get this message.....

hi! i have a strange request. my wife and daugter was on here last night looking to buy me a alex rodriguez bat for my birthday on june 9th and they are both baseball ignorant, so they were going to buy your's from you, but it's ivan rodriguez not alex. if i pay your listing fee's can you relist the bat i like pudge but i don't collect ranger's. i'm sorry for there confusion ! and if you can help me out i would appreciate it alot!!!!!! let me know if this is ok by you? i still have'nt figured out how they thought they were going to hide it from me on my own acct.?


So what would y'all do? He (she?) used buy it now to purchase it.

    I'd drop it if under $50, pursue it if over $50.

    Also, I'd strongly consider making the Buy-it-now's require immediate payment in the future. It is the only way to do it, IMHO.

    cancel the transaction and relist it, I'm pretty sure that if the transaction was cancelled by mutual agreement there are no relisting fees.
    Sounds like an honest mistake.

    Well, they haven't paid for it and you haven't shipped it so I don't see why you wouldn't let the guy off the hook if he's willing to pay your fees. Just list it again and sell it to someone who wants it.

    When a transaction is cancelled by mutual agreement,
    ONLY the final-value fees are refunded; NOT the listing
    fees.

    Since EBAY has been invaded by banditos and idiotos,
    the immediate-payment-required feature has become
    much more popular among sellers. However, that feature
    does deter multiple purchases; I usually only use it on
    expensive items.
