the windshield wiper solvent/h2o solution for cleaning your windshields can serve
as a mild lubricant, but it's not 100% friction free.

i didn't feel so bad having my pants around my ankles, since everybody else did too.

What kind of milage are you getting on that 8? I've owned Camaro Z28's for the last 9 years
and I thought the milage was a fair trade off for the power ( 350 V8 310 HP). I usually get 18
in the city and 22-23 highway. I use K&N air filters and that helps by the rate of 2 miles per
gallon. Great product, never change your air filter and keeps 99.9% of the grime out of your engine.

16.5 MPG average according to the dashboard computer (just click a botton and it figures it out for you!)

The best I got on the highway was around 19 MPG (tested it for about 50 miles)...

I have an old Plymouth Sattelite wagon souped up for racing with a 440 Mopar. Tell me about it!! 8 miles to the gallon sucks (weekends only)!!

Back in '81 in High School, I drove a '72 Buick Electra that got 5 mpg! Gas was about $1.25 to $1.40 a gallon then. I would use $5 worth of gas just on my drive to and from work after school. Got rid of that lemon within 6 months. Once you got it started you could pull the keys out of the ignition and drive without a key! You could fit 7-8 friends in it with ease, so it made me popular going to H.S. parties.

We can all probably tell some stories about the hot cars from the past....I bought a 66 Chevelle with 396, 4 speed, the whole nine yards back in 1973 right before the gas crisis hit. If I remember correctly gas was 32cents a gallon when I bought it but it shot up soon thereafter ....I was in the Army at the time and bought it down in Texas. It was a beauty, candy apple red, not a bid of rust...beautiful....but the gas ate up my money real quick.....before I got out I traded it in for a Ford Maverick...talk about downsizing!!

    Give me a break...

With the amount of stuff you buy?

I think your concerns about the price of gas are about as critically serious as me deciding whether I should supersize my meal at MickeyD's tonite!

I've never owned a car that was great on gas milage , but then again , I've never really wanted to , the only one I can complain to is myself , But I won't .
And just to prove it to myself , at the end of 07 I'm getting the new Dodge Challenger as soon as it hits the showroom floor .
Once again at 425 HP I'm not expecting good gas milage , but that's not what I look for in a car , If I wanted great gas milage, I'd buy a bike or a horse .
This is the 08 Challenger due to be released at the end of 07 and I'm dying to sit in the drivers seat and stomp on the pedal .
I was thinking of getting the Mustang , until I saw this beast .
Looks very much like the 71 Challenger, a car I have always wanted but could never seem to get a hold of .

Well, shame on Chevy for not telling you that the SS had the V8.

In any case, I'd be willing to bet a 1976 Topps Larvell Blanks PSA 10 that you're getting 25-27 MPG on the highway, as the SS has active fuel management and should actually be running as a 4-cylinder once you're crusing down the open road.

YEA MAN ! That car is hot too Detroit, in that there is no doubt .
I do love the new Camaro too, But I am already commited .
It was a toss up really and the thing that clinched the deal was just the fact that I have always wanted the 71 Challenger and as soon as I saw the new one I almost had heart failure , as if the Mopar Gods were saying " Yes my son here is your second chance "
But if I they hadn't been releasing the Challenger, I'd absolutley be getting that one , I used to have a 69 Camaro L-88 427 and that car was mind blowing , it had only one seat , Mine but it was only a track car 9.6 1/4's . . . . . . Ohhhhh OK, so I did take it on the street a few times image

LOL! You are right! I just can't wait to see $4.00 per gallon! Yeah, so what's $65 per tank of Premium gas for my car that gets a little over 16 miles per gallon?

No big deal! Guess I'll apply for food stamps! image

    Dave,

No problem, glad you like it. I got it here: New Camaro. If you go to the "downloads" tab, there's more.

Being a GM employee, I'm very proud of this car as well as the Impala. But I have to admit, the Charger is sweet. And I do have to give Ford a ton of credit for the retro Mustang - obviously that was the car that prompted GM and Chrysler to come out with the Camaro and Charger.
